The Life Science & Tech Consultants Association (LSTCA) is a nonprofit professional association built by consultants, for consultants — dedicated to advancing the life science and technology consulting profession.
We exist because consulting in life sciences and tech is a uniquely demanding path. You bring deep expertise — whether in biopharma, medtech, AI/ML, or at the intersection of all three — and yet you often navigate it without a safety net: no mentors, no referrals, no community of peers who truly understand the work.
LSTCA changes that.
We are the first professional association of its kind — built specifically for consultants and fractional professionals operating at the intersection of life science and technology. Our Team
Founders and advisors behind LSTCA
Elena Sinclair
President & Co-founder
Elena is the founder and principal consultant of FlexPoint Bio, specializing in clinical program and project management, biomarker and biospecimen strategy, risk-based quality management, clinical outsourcing, and operational readiness for emerging biotech companies.
She brings over 20 years of experience spanning bench research, site-level clinical operations, and sponsor-side trial execution — leading early-to-pivotal phase programs end-to-end, from study execution and cross-functional coordination to vendor oversight, inspection readiness, and the SOPs and scalable frameworks that become a clinical team's operational backbone. She holds an MBA in Data Analysis and Project Management and an advanced degree in life sciences.
Ella founded FlexPoint Bio because she saw how strategic clarity, disciplined execution, and strong governance can accelerate a program's success — and how the absence of any one of them can quietly derail it. She is passionate about ethical AI implementation and driving lean, technology-forward clinical trials that reduce operational burden without compromising quality or compliance.
Today, she partners with biotech founders, CEOs, and clinical leaders to provide fractional program and project management leadership — helping lean teams deliver treatments to patients faster, safer, and more reliably.
Yulia Ovechkina
COO & Co-founder
Dr. Yulia Ovechkina is a scientific leader with over 20 years of experience advancing therapeutics in immuno-oncology, oncology, and infectious diseases. She specializes in guiding R&D programs from discovery through early clinical development, building high-performing teams and data-driven strategies.
Most recently, she served as Director of Immuno-Oncology at Kineta, leading next-generation immunotherapy programs into the clinic. Previously, she directed drug discovery at IDRI, developing high-throughput and high-content screening platforms. Earlier roles include leading oncology and predictive biomarker profiling programs at Ricerca Biosciences and MDS Pharma.
She earned her PhD from the University of Washington and has authored 50+ publications.
Ryan Takeya
Industry Advisor
Ryan Takeya has spent 33 years in Seattle biotech, beginning his career at Immunex and later holding leadership roles at Targeted Genetics, Seagen, and Pfizer, while being based in Seattle during his time at Celladon and Poseida. With experience across process development, manufacturing, and operational leadership, he brings a perspective shaped by both the innovator company side and consulting.
That long connection to Seattle biotech, along with his experience as a former consultant, is why LSTCA matters to him. As a community ally to LSTCA, he values the role it plays in building a community for life science and tech consultants and connecting them with founders, innovator companies, and investors to share experience, strengthen relationships, and support product development.
He is deeply committed to the Seattle biotech community and sees LSTCA as a way to share experience, strengthen the ecosystem, and extend support to consultants beyond the Pacific Northwest.
